Dr. Abdulghani Sankari, Wayne State University, Michigan State University, USA

Dr. Abdulghani Sankari, MD, Ph.D., FAASM, FCCP, is a Physician-Scientist, who is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. He is a member of several Veterans Affairs and National Institutes of Health review panels. He currently holds a position as a Professor of Medicine at both Wayne State University and Michigan State University, where he also serves as director of medical education at Ascension Providence Hospital and Detroit VA Medical Center. He is Assistant dean at Wayne State University School of Medicine and President of the Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education, which is the largest consortium in the country on medical education. He mentored over 35, graduate, and undergraduate students, physicians, and junior scientists and authored over 85 peer-reviewed papers and books. Dr. Sankari has been the principal investigator on several government- and non-government-funded studies examining pathophysiology and outcomes for sleep-disordered breathing.
