Dr Anita Shallal completed her Internal Medicine and Chief residency at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She completed her Infectious Diseases fellowship training at Henry Ford Hospital, where she also completed additional subspecialty training in Infection Prevention & Control and Hospital Epidemiology. As part of her training, she has focused her global health efforts on the Middle East and North Africa region, combating antimicrobial resistance with infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship. Her research interests include health disparities, public health, and antimicrobial resistance.
