Dr. Layth Mula-Hussain, Sultan Qaboos Cancer Center, Oman

Layth (Yahya Ibrahim) Mula-Hussain was born, raised and gained his medical degree in Mosul, Iraq. He is a Jordanian board-certified physician in radiation oncology and had augmented this with MSc in advanced oncology from Ulm University in Germany and four years of clinical fellowships from Canada. Besides many professional memberships, he is a lifetime ESTRO Fellow, ESCO Graduate, Certified Clinical Investigator, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and ESO Ambassador by the European School of Oncology.
In the last decade, Layth was the founding director of Iraq’s first radiation oncology board program (2013 – 2017). He acted as an Expert within imPACT IAEA teams for Pakistan & Syria and was an ASCO International Affairs Steering Committee member (2016 – 2019). Currently, he is a consultant physician at the Sultan Qaboos Cancer Centre in Muscat – Oman, visiting professor at Ninevah University in Mosul – Iraq, and director of education and training at Rayos Contra Cancer for the MENA region. He authored / co-authored 60+ manuscripts/ books/ books’ chapters, did 100+ scientific presentations, and his efforts were cited in over 700+ times with h-index of 14.
