Dr. Qing Xia

Dr. Qing Xia, Michigan State University, USA
Qing Xia is the Associate Director for Global Health Education and Research at the Institute for Global Health (IGH) and an adjunct assistant professor at the Family and Community Medicine Department in the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University. She specializes in transdisciplinary research team building, global health research, curriculum design, and professional development. Before joining IGH, Qing held leadership roles at the Office of China Programs and the Visiting International Professional Program at Michigan State University’s International Studies and Programs. She managed various programs and projects in capacity building, international professional development, faculty development, and many international student training programs. Qing obtained a B.A. and M.A. from Sichuan University in China, an M.A. in American Studies, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Michigan State University. Her research interests include adult learning, healthcare students’ professional identity development, compassion and empathy in medical education, gerontology, One Health research and education, public health, community engagement, women’s leadership, and internationalization of higher education. She has worked and collaborated with scholars and professionals from countries in East Asia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the MENA region
