Her research highlights how the interaction between work variables, environment, and gender shapes health outcomes. Her publications have focused on the health and living and working conditions of marginalized populations including children and refugees. Her academic research has backed her support of the rights of workers to basic labor protections, as well as broader state recognition and support of marginalized worker populations, particularly working refugee children. Dr. Habib was awarded the Occupational Health and Safety Section’s International Award by the American Public Health Association in November 2017. And in recognition of her achievements and contributions in the field of occupational and environmental health, she was elected as a fellow of the renowned Collegium Ramazzini in 2017.
